MSC is an independent non-profit organization that awards its label only to seafood that has passed certification as sustainable. Wild Alaskan salmon is the first U.S. fishery to be awarded this certification for meeting the MSC's strict environmental standards. The MSC is supported by the World Wildlife Fund, the Audubon Society, Monterey Bay Aquarium/Seafood Watch Program and many others.
