THANKS FOR VISITING THIS SITE!
WE WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE YOU TO ONE OF NEW ENGLAND'S
MOST POPULAR TOURIST AREAS.
AND TO AMERICAS OLDEST COVERED BRIDGE
WHICH IS OPEN FOR YOU TO WALK THROUGH AND ENJOY!
The bridge was approved in 1827 and completed in 1829.
It is located in the north-west corner of Haverhill, New Hampshire,
in the quiet and friendly village of Woodsville.
bordered by the Ammonoosuc and Connecticut Rivers.
There are other covered bridges and attractions in the area and any of
Woodsville's merchants will gladly lead you in the right direction.
Woodsville is the gateway to the White Mountains, a vacationers paradise in the summer,
recreational center in the winter, and spectactular color in the fall.

It cost to build was $2,400.00 and the cost to restore over a million.

The bridge is no longer open to vehicle staffic, but you may wander freely
and admire this magnificient structure.

The sidewalk has been restored, and a gently breeze will cool you
sitting on the new bench!

The view from the bench is not only beautiful, but calming.
Even the thundering water over the dam sings a relaxing melody.

Sometimes over a million feet of logs would be held here,
in the Ammonoosuc River, waiting to be allowed entry
into the Connecticut River.

Please respect and enjoy of pride and joy
the Haverhill-Bath Covered Bridge
in Woodsville, New Hampshire.
